Tales of a Web Designer-Developer and Graphic Artist
Hello there readers! Even if you exist only in my imagination, here is a Friday update. I know it’s been a while and I haven’t seriously been posting at all, but let’s try again to get the ball rolling.
I finally “finished” and launched my first website for a client, Essential Massage and Wellness, last Sunday.
www.essentialmassageandwellness.com.
Here is some great feedback from web professionals at the LinkedIn Group that I’m part of.
Web Designer and HTML/CSS Developer
It was a great learning process, and I feel like I’ve gotten some solid practice with CSS, WordPress, and Bootstrap. I’ve also increased my knowledge and experience with FTP, database managment using PHPmyAdmin, and working with a client (of course!).
Let me know what you think of the site if you have a minute or two.
I’m currently taking CAS 222 : Integrated Web Design. It’s basically using all the learned skills from previous courses and using them to simulate working with an actual client. It includes things like creating a Statement of Work in response to a Request for Proposal, meeting deadlines, educating and asking questions to clarify project parameters, etc.
My instructor is Susan Watson, who has been great so far. Honestly I was a little wary at first considering her ratings at www.ratemyprofessors.com, but I think those few bad reviews from years back were likely from disgruntled students. Whatever the case, I’m pleased thus far and really glad I’m taking this class.
Until next time!
